Prospect Valley Elementary School celebrated its annual Veterans Day Flag Ceremony with an impressive turnout from local veterans and community members. The event brought students, staff, and families together to honor those who have served, creating a memorable moment for the entire school community.

During the ceremony, students proudly performed the military medley, singing the service songs for each branch of the armed forces as attending veterans stood to be recognized. The moving tribute highlighted the school’s ongoing commitment to teaching gratitude and respect for those who have served our country.

As part of this year’s Veterans Day give-back efforts, Prospect Valley once again organized a stocking drive to support veterans. In only its second year, the fundraiser saw remarkable growth. Students donated enough items to fill 297 stockings, more than doubling last year’s total of 143. The stockings were delivered to veterans as a gesture of appreciation during the holiday season.

In addition, students from various classrooms wrote 362 holiday cards for deployed service members. The cards will be sent as part of the 10K for the Troops initiative, in partnership with KYGO, to help spread joy and encouragement to military members spending the holidays away from home.
