The City of Wheat Ridge is delighted to announce the completion of a new Nature Playground at Anderson Park, a transformative addition that promises to elevate the recreational experience for children in the community. This cutting-edge playground, developed by GameTime, integrates seamlessly with the natural surroundings, fostering higher levels of physical activity, social interaction and play value within the space.

This project was made possible through the generous support of the Metropolitan Football Stadium District, which dedicated funds from the sale of the Denver Broncos Football Club to youth activity programs. Wheat Ridge staff provided three opportunities for youth in Wheat Ridge to provide feedback on seven different options developed by staff. Feedback was tallied, and the results overwhelmingly supported the nature playground at Anderson and replacing the old playground with youth fitness equipment. The second playground is currently under construction and is slated to open in early 2024.

We are thrilled to bring this Nature Playground to Anderson Park, enhancing the recreational options for our community’s children. The collaborative effort with the Metropolitan Football Stadium District, along with valuable input from our youth, exemplifies our commitment to creating spaces that cater to the evolving needs of our residents.

The installation of the Nature Playground was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Altitude Recreation and our Parks Team. Their commitment to quality and attention to detail ensured the successful realization of this project.

Anderson Park, as one of the largest and most frequented parks in Wheat Ridge, holds a pivotal role in providing recreational opportunities for residents. The city is excited about the positive impact these enhancements will have, contributing to a more dynamic and engaging play space for all members of the community.

The City of Wheat Ridge extends its gratitude to all those involved in making this Nature Playground a reality, as we continue to prioritize the well-being and enjoyment of our residents.
