Have you ever stopped to think what a prosperous life would look like for you? Or ever defined your why behind working as hard as you do on what you do every day?
One of the best ways we align with and stay true to our happiest path is by defining things on our own terms. This becomes our true north. We’re less likely to get swayed off this path when our sails aren’t being tugged by others.
Before we can define this though it’s important to become aware of any shame or guilt we feel for wanting the things we want. I often hear from clients that it seems hopeless to live their best life because of all the sadness and destruction in the world. My reply is always the same, this is exactly the reason why you should work to build the life that helps you thrive and shine.
When each of us anchors into building our ideal, prosperous life we model a new behavior to the world, we uplift the frequency and others can’t help but follow suit, we can give more and ripple out our prosperity to others. Imagine the impact you could make?
So now that you’ve been honest with yourself about any shame gremlins about wanting what you want, how exactly do you define prosperity for yourself?
Here’s a simple framework:
With a paper and pen sit quietly and set a timer for 15 minutes. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths in and out. This resets your nervous system and centers you back to you, a place where you make rooted decisions and fear has a harder time creeping in. Think of everything you have in your life to be grateful for and allow yourself, for a moment, to feel what peace and prosperity and freedom in your life would feel like. As you anchor in this feeling in your body, you’ll begin to make choices from this point.
Now answer the following questions:
What would an ideal day and week look like for you?
How do you spend your time, with whom do you spend your time?
What brings you joy?
What is the legacy that you want to leave?
How do you make people feel around you?
If money wasn’t a part of the equation, what would you do that you’re currently not doing?
What amenities and options ensure you feel safe and supported?
What hobbies would you like to explore further?
Now that you’ve answered these, what’s one tiny action step you could take between now and the end of the year to start moving in the direction of your north star?
