Meet Onorina Maloney: A Heart for Service, A Spirit for Community

In honor of Professional Municipal Clerk’s Week, we’re proud to spotlight Town Clerk Onorina Maloney. From her passion for public service to her love of fall colors and classic movies, Onorina brings warmth, dedication, and a vibrant spirit to Mountain View every day.

Onorina and her husband moved to Colorado in 2017 to be closer to their daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. She was appointed to her role here in Mountain View by the Council in January 2025.

Before Mountain View, she served as a Town Clerk in Massachusetts, managing records, elections, supporting boards, and leading historical preservation projects. “Now in Mountain View,” she says, “I bring these values forward with innovation and a strong respect for history, public service, and transparency.”

Challenges don’t slow her down. “Adaptability and perseverance are key,” she says. “The dedication of Town Council, my colleagues, and the impact of our work inspire me to bring my best every day.”

As a child, Onorina dreamed of being a police officer, later inspired by the discipline and purpose of military service. Town government, she says, turned out to be her true calling.

Fall is her favorite season. “It’s like nature throws a farewell party before winter. I love the crisp air, the explosion of colors, and homemade apple crisp with vanilla ice cream.”

When she’s not working, you’ll find Onorina with her three rescue dogs, a good book, or a classic movie. She even finds cleaning surprisingly relaxing and says it helps her reset.

The best part of her work? “Making a meaningful impact. Whether solving challenges, collaborating, or seeing plans come to life, knowing I contribute to the community keeps me striving for excellence.”

Few people know she once held several track and field records. “It wasn’t just a sport—it instilled discipline, determination, and the drive to improve.”

If she could wave a magic wand, she would create a vibrant community center for Mountain View, complete with outdoor spaces, local art, and programs for all ages.

Among her favorites: How to Win Friends and Influence People, the movie It’s a Wonderful Life, and Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. “It always makes me smile and dance—even though I don’t know how. But hey…nobody’s watching!”
