Veterans’ Celebration

Join members of the Wheat Ridge Historical Society in honoring local veterans for their service at November’s Second Saturday Social at the Baugh House, 44th Ave. and Robb St., from 10:00–2:00 Saturday, Nov. 9th. We’ll honor the men and women who fought to ensure that America remains a free democracy and show our pride at their bravery and dedication at a special salute to our local veterans at 10:30. New this year is a car show that will feature sports, classic and muscle cars. See them and talk to their owners while enjoying live music, snacks and good conversation.

Chances are there will only be eight more Saturdays to spend a pleasant afternoon touring through the museums at the Historical Park. The museums, recently reimagined to fit into a Century-long Story, have been open both Fridays and Saturdays to help celebrate the Historical Society’s 50th Anniversary. However, foot traffic on Saturdays has been low, and the WRHS board now faces the unfortunate decision of whether to staff Saturday openings in the coming year. The museums have been and will continue to be open for tours every Friday from 10:00 to 3:00; $5 donation for adults, $2 for children.

Wadsworth Blvd. Update

Both 41st Avenue and 48th Avenue at Wadsworth are now open after full reconstruction.

From Friday, Nov. 1 to Friday, Nov. 15, 39th Avenue immediately west of Wadsworth Boulevard will close for final concrete paving. This work is expected to take up to two weeks to complete. The signed detour route for residential traffic uses 41st Avenue to either Yarrow Street or Zephr Street. Adjacent businesses are open with access directly from Wadsworth Boulevard. Business driveways on 39th Avenue will also be open and accessible from the west side of the closure. Please follow signs and flagger instructions when present.

All work is weather-dependent, and construction schedules are subject to change.
