Early bird registration is now open for Localworks’ fourth annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser, scheduled for Sept. 17 at Applewood Golf Course in Golden. You can purchase your tickets online at wearelocalworks.org/golf.
Golfers who register by July 31 will receive discounted rates of $100 for an individual player or $350 for a foursome. Beginning Aug. 1, registration increases to $120 per player and $450 per team.
The 18-hole scramble tournament tees off at 7:30 a.m. and welcomes players of all skill levels. Participants can enjoy challenge holes, mulligans, group ball, celebrity shots, prizes and other activities throughout the day.
More than 100 golfers participated in last year’s tournament, helping raise $18,500 to support Localworks programs that strengthen Wheat Ridge neighborhoods and foster community connections.
You don’t have to be Tiger Woods to enjoy yourself. Just ask Guy Nahmiach, Wheat Ridge resident and tournament sponsor: “I hate golf…but I love Wheat Ridge.” He adds, “This event empowers Localworks to fund and generate events that bring the community together.”
Proceeds from this year’s tournament will support Localworks’ TLC programming, including Clean Up Days, Neighborhood Block Party Grants and the Block Party Equipment Library. Those programs continue to make an impact across the community. In 2025, Localworks’ Clean Up Days served more than 450 residents and collected nearly 69 tons of material. The organization also awarded $7,200 in dumpster grants, helping residents remove approximately 96,000 pounds of waste from their neighborhoods. Another $2,550 supported 17 resident-organized block parties throughout Wheat Ridge.
“Localworks is helping build an inclusive culture for Wheat Ridge through hosting social, educational, and civic events. I feel included in Wheat Ridge because of Localworks,” said Dan Graeve, Wheat Ridge resident and Localworks board member.
The Golf Tournament Fundraiser remains one of Localworks’ largest annual fundraising events, bringing together residents, businesses and community supporters while generating funding for free programs that benefit Wheat Ridge throughout the year.
Registration and sponsorship opportunities are available at wearelocalworks.org/golf.
