This year, students at Wheat Ridge High School are journeying to the past with their spring musical, Anastasia. Performances will take place March 5–7 at 7 p.m. each evening.

Students with a wide range of interests have come together to make this production possible, including members of the cast, crew, and pit orchestra. Musicals are always special because they bring together musicians, actors, dancers, builders, artists, and light and sound engineers in a collaborative space where students can learn and grow. Everyone has been working incredibly hard to bring this magical story to life.

Anastasia follows the story of young princess Anastasia Romanov, who survives the execution of her family and embarks on a journey to discover who she truly is—with the help of a con man and a goofy ex-aristocrat. Together, they travel to 1920s Paris in search of her long-lost grandmother and uncover the truth about her identity. It is a tale of home, love, family, memory, and resilience. The story is sure to transport and delight audiences while reminding us that self-discovery, hope, and the independent pursuit of one’s identity are keys to joy and fulfillment. Life is about the journey we take, and the variety of music and clever storytelling draw audiences into this timeless and relevant story.

Musicals at Wheat Ridge have a long and storied tradition, and it would be wonderful to sell out all three nights with alumni, community members, friends, and family in attendance. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at https://tinyurl.com/wrhs-musical
