Ridge at 38 Launches New Efforts to Support Local Businesses and Community Growth

Localworks, in partnership with the City of Wheat Ridge, has launched a coordinated set of initiatives through Ridge at 38, an effort designed to highlight local businesses, promote community events, and encourage residents to explore the 38th Avenue corridor. The initiative includes a newly developed website, a series of light-pole banners, and a community reimbursement program, with additional efforts expected to follow. Together, these improvements are intended to strengthen the visibility and long-term vibrancy of one of Wheat Ridge’s most active neighborhood business districts.

These updates arrive alongside the recent opening of The Green at 38th, a new public gathering space that has quickly become a focal point for events and neighborhood activity. As the district continues to evolve, the combination of physical improvements and community-focused programming reflects a broader investment in creating a more connected and accessible corridor for residents, visitors, and local businesses.

The newly launched website, ridgeat38.org, provides a centralized platform for users to learn about the corridor and stay connected to activity in the neighborhood. The site brings together information about Ridge at 38, The Green at 38th, and annual events such as Ridgefest. It also features an interactive business map and directory, allowing users to explore restaurants, shops, and services by category in the area. An events calendar further supports engagement by allowing visitors to check for upcoming activities and add them directly to their personal calendars.

The website was designed and developed by Wheat Ridge–based designer Roman Komarov, founder of LittleBig Digital. Komarov notes that the approach focused on balancing the district’s history with its future. “The goal of the design was to take something cherished and historic and present it with a modern look that respects the city’s past while pointing toward its growth” he said.

In addition to the website, the Ridge at 38 corridor now features approximately 80 light-pole banners along both sides of the street. The banners incorporate the district’s branding alongside messaging such as “The Heart of Wheat Ridge” and “Community Starts Here.” Drawing inspiration from the area’s agricultural roots, the designs include stylized wheat patterns that connect the corridor’s history with its present-day identity. The banners create a more cohesive visual experience and reinforce Ridge at 38 as a recognizable destination within the city.

To further support local businesses, Localworks in partnership with the City of Wheat Ridge is also launching a community reimbursement program aimed at encouraging local shopping along Ridge at 38. Through the program, customers who make purchases at participating businesses can receive 20 percent back on their purchase, up to $20. The initiative is designed to both reward existing customers and introduce residents to businesses they may not have previously visited. By creating an incentive to shop locally, the program helps keep spending within the community while strengthening connections between businesses and the neighborhoods they serve.

These efforts are supported by Localworks and the City of Wheat Ridge and reflect an ongoing commitment to the 38th Avenue corridor. Ridge at 38 continues to build on its role as a hub for small businesses, events, and community life. With new tools to improve visibility, encourage exploration, and support local investment, the district is positioned for continued growth and activity in the years ahead.
