Construction is officially underway for Primrose School of Wheat Ridge at Applewood, the first of its kind in the city. Slated to open in Winter 2025/2026, the school will offer high-quality early education and child care to local families.
Franchise owners Emily and Bryce Durke, inspired by their own search for quality care for their children, bring backgrounds in education and business to the project. “We’re excited to support local families with early education that sets kids up for lifelong success,” said Emily Durke.
Primrose’s exclusive Balanced Learning® curriculum combines purposeful play with nurturing teacher guidance, encouraging curiosity, creativity, confidence, and compassion. With 90% of brain development occurring before age five, the school’s approach is designed to support children during these crucial years.
The 15,000-square-foot facility will feature 13 classrooms, three secure playgrounds, and a Primrose Patch garden. It will serve up to 200 children and is expected to create 40 jobs while contributing $8 million to the local economy. The school is located near the new Lutheran Hospital at 3905 Clear Creek Drive.
