Mountain View Community Forums Coming in 2026

In 2026, the Town of Mountain View will continue offering Community Forums designed to create additional opportunities for connection, conversation, and community input outside of regular Council meetings and workshops. They will generally be held on the third Saturday of most months.

Mayor and Council Community Forums provide an informal setting for residents to share perspectives on Town governance and decision-making. Community members are invited to join the Mayor and members of Council for coffee, donuts, and open conversation about Town matters. While multiple Council Members may be present, no formal actions or decisions will be made at these forums. The focus is on listening, discussion, and strengthening our shared understanding as a community.

MVPD Community Forums offer residents a chance to connect with the Mountain View Police officers who serve our Town. These forums are designed to build relationships, foster trust, and share helpful resources in a relaxed, approachable environment. Each forum will feature a planned topic or demonstration, giving attendees an opportunity to learn more about public safety services and ask questions directly. The MVPD Forums will follow select Mayor and Council Forums throughout the year.

We encourage community members to review the 2026 Community Forum dates listed nearby and mark their calendars. Whether you’re looking to share ideas, learn more about Town operations, or simply connect with your neighbors, these forums are a great way to stay engaged and informed.

Yard Waste and Christmas Tree Collection in Mountain View

After recent windstorms, the Town of Mountain View is offering free branch and yard-waste pickup to help residents clean up storm debris.

Yard waste collection will take place on January 5 and January 12. Residents should place accepted debris on the public right-of-way near sidewalks by either date. Public Works will collect and dispose of materials on both days. Material will be mulched and re-used.

Accepted materials include tree limbs, branches, woody debris, tree bark, pine needles and cones, and logs (maximum 8 feet long and 6 inches in diameter). Items that will not be picked up with this collection are: construction materials, household trash, rocks, dirt, sod, leaves, bundled or bagged materials.

Christmas trees will not be accepted as part of this collection. Instead, Christmas trees may be placed with regular trash for pickup on January 8.

Thank you for helping Mountain View recover after the wind and keep our community clean.
