Fitness On The Green

With the partnership of Wild and Precious Optimal Living, Localworks is excited to launch the first Fitness on the Green event of the summer!

Happening once a month, these free events will offer 45-minute workouts by local fitness and movement experts, health and wellness vendors, special giveaways of goodies donated by Wheat Ridge businesses, and much more!

Stop by July 16 and Aug. 6 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on The Green in front of Stevens Elementary for a fun and free fitness event!

Register now at https://www.eventbrite.com/o/wild-amp-precious-optimal-living-20123801398 and join us for the event.

Clean-Up Days Coming This Summer!

Wheat Ridge residents are invited to join us and get rid of their large item trash, recycling and green waste at our TLC Clean-Up Days. This program provides a parking lot FULL of specialty dumpsters in partnership with Bin-There-Dump-That.

These events occur monthly through September, with our upcoming event on July 23 at Applewood Baptist Church. Learn about times, dates, and what you are allowed to bring at: https://wearelocalworks.org/our-programs/tlc-wheat-ridge/dumpster-days/

Makerspace Updates

Localworks is continuing developing its efforts to bring a fully fledged makerspace to the Wheat Ridge community. A makerspace is a community-focused workshop that provides the tools, knowledge and space for community members and businesses to learn and create across a wide array of disciplines. The makerspace’s original establishment came in the form of a gift from Wheat Ridge’s own Milly Nadler who, in memory of her late husband Peter Marks, donated a variety of tools.

The Localworks makerspace is currently building out programming and resources for electronics, metalworking, woodworking, textiles and blacksmithing capabilities – with many more disciplines on the way!

Localworks’ long-term goal is to identify a larger, permanent location that can house all of these specialized tools (and more!) and serve as a space for classes, collaboration and business enrichment. You can find the current home of the Localworks makerspace at 7530 W. 38th Ave., here in Wheat Ridge. Feel free to stop by during open hours on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 to 6 p.m. to learn more. You can also go to https://wearelocalworks.org/makerspace/ for more information and follow @wearemakerworks on Instagram for updates.
