In an effort to bolster local businesses during the ongoing Improve Wadsworth project, Localworks has launched the “Shop Local & Win” campaign, encouraging residents to support the local businesses along the Wadsworth Corridor.
The initiative invites community members to make purchases at any business within the city limits along Wadsworth Blvd. and its adjoining intersections. Each purchase not only aids local businesses but also enters the shopper into a raffle for a chance to win cash prizes. Localworks staff, in partnership with the city, believes that this campaign is a fantastic way for our community to show its resilience and support for local businesses. Every dollar spent is an investment in our community’s strength and vibrancy.
How to Participate:
Shopping locally is the first step. Whether you’re buying groceries, grabbing a coffee, or seeking financial advice, every purchase counts. Simply save your receipt and email a photo or scan to reception@wearelocalworks.org. Each receipt you submit earns you entries into the raffle:
• Purchases under $25: 1 entry
• Purchases between $25 and $150: 2 entries
• Purchases over $150: 3 entries
With each submission, not only do participants increase their chances of winning one of ten $1,000 cash prizes, but they also support local businesses in a direct and meaningful way.
Supporting Local Businesses:
Each receipt submitted on behalf of a business also counts as an entry for that business in a separate competition– so be sure to support your favorite business on the corridor. Businesses compete for their own cash prizes based on the number of receipts submitted. Franchise businesses require three receipts for one entry to ensure fairness.
The top five businesses with the most receipts will be awarded cash prizes:
• First Place: $5,000
• Second Place: $2,000
• Third Place: $1,500
• Fourth Place: $1,000
• Fifth Place: $500
The “Shop Local & Win” campaign is designed to be simple and accessible, reflecting feedback from a recent community survey. By participating, residents help local businesses thrive amidst the Improve Wadsworth project and ensure the corridor remains a bustling hub of activity.
