Staying connected to what’s happening in Mountain View is easier than ever, and we want all community members to feel informed, welcomed, and involved. Whether you prefer attending meetings, reading updates at home, following along online, or joining neighbors at local events, there are many ways to stay in the loop.
Attend Council Meetings
The Mountain View Town Council typically holds its Regular Meetings on the 3rd Monday of each month at 6:30 pm, where formal decisions and legal actions take place. Workshop Meetings are usually held on the 1st Monday of the month, also at 6:30 pm, and are designed for in-depth learning and discussion. Workshops are conversational in nature and no formal votes occur.
Occasionally, Special Meetings are scheduled when needed. All meetings—regular, workshop, and special—are announced on the Town website, on the bulletin boards, and via email for those who have signed up to receive notices.
Most meetings are live via Zoom, making it easy to participate from home. Community members do not need to RSVP, turn on cameras, or identify themselves unless they wish to make a public comment. Zoom links are posted on the Town website calendar when available. Meetings are currently held at the Berkeley Community Church on the corner of Sheridan and W. 43rd Avenue. Staff and elected officials will always do their best to make everyone feel welcome. We’re glad you want to be involved!
Watch the Meeting Recordings Afterward
After each meeting, the recording is now posted on the Town website. This is a great way to keep up with Council actions even if you can’t attend at the time of the meeting.
Sign Up for Meeting Packets and Announcements
If you would like to receive agendas and packet materials before each Council meeting, you can request to be added to the Town’s email distribution list. See the QR code below or email the Town Clerk via [email protected]. Once subscribed, you’ll receive agendas, Council packets, and occasional updates about programs, services, and important announcements.
Read the Gazette and Follow Social Media
In addition to Council materials, the Town publishes updates about local projects, programs, and events in this paper, which is mailed to every household monthly. You can also follow the Town of Mountain View and the Mountain View Police Department on Facebook for timely updates and reminders.
Watch for Flyers—or Opt In to Email Instead
Many residents appreciate receiving flyers on their doors with event reminders, service updates, and announcements. If you’d prefer not to receive paper flyers, simply let the Town Clerk know—staff can switch your address to email-only notifications.
Look for Letters in the Mail
When there are important updates that affect the entire community, the Town may send letters directly to residents, business owners, property owners, and tenants. If your contact information changes, please let staff know so we can keep records accurate.
Join Community Forums and Events
The Mayor, Town Council, and Police Department host Community Forums for informal, open conversations. The Town also organizes seasonal events designed to help neighbors connect with each other and with their elected officials. Event details are shared on the Town calendar and via flyers throughout the year.
Mountain View is at its best when all of us—residents, business owners, and community partners—stay connected and engaged. Thank you for taking the time to stay informed and involved in the life of our Town.
