City Of Wheat Ridge Awarded $50,000 Grant to Support Residents Transitioning Into Stable Housing

The City of Wheat Ridge has been awarded a $50,000 Housing Grant from Colorado Gives Foundation to help residents access stable housing and overcome short-term barriers that can prevent long-term housing success.

The funding will support the city’s efforts to provide temporary housing assistance and housing stabilization resources for individuals and families in Jefferson County who are in transition to more permanent housing solutions. The program is designed to assist residents who have already secured or qualified for housing opportunities but need short-term support while waiting to move into a unit, as well as residents who have sufficient income to sustain housing but face financial barriers such as security deposits, application fees or other upfront costs.

“This funding will allow us to continue supporting residents during some of the most critical moments in their housing journey,” said Mayor Korey Stites. “Even when someone has secured a long-term housing solution, there can still be short-term obstacles that put that stability at risk. This grant helps us bridge that gap and connect residents to safe, stable housing faster.”

The grant aligns with Colorado Gives Foundation Housing Grant Opportunity, which supports efforts to improve access to stable and affordable housing in Jefferson County. The foundation’s housing initiatives focus on increasing housing stability, expanding access to affordable housing options and supporting services that help residents avoid displacement and homelessness.

Colorado Gives Foundation has invested heavily in housing solutions across Jefferson County, supporting programs focused on eviction prevention, rental assistance, housing navigation and transitional housing services.

The City of Wheat Ridge continues to work with local and regional partners to address housing challenges and expand resources that support community wellbeing and housing stability for residents.
