At Mountain Vista, we take great pride in celebrating the dedication and hard work of our team. 2025 marks a year filled with significant milestones, and we’re excited to honor four exceptional employees who have reached impressive anniversaries in their careers.
These individuals have played key roles in shaping the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes Mountain Vista a beloved home for our residents.
One of our standout team members is Kandy, a Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) who has devoted an incredible 35 years to Mountain Vista. Her role goes far beyond administering medication; it’s about offering comfort and stability during transitions in residents’ lives. Kandy consistently goes above and beyond, whether by providing a comforting word, assisting with daily needs, or ensuring that every detail of a resident’s day is taken care of. “When a resident thanks me, it makes everything worth it,”
Kandy says with a smile. Her bond with Mountain Vista is personal—her mother worked here and eventually became a resident. “This place is like family,” Kandy explains. “It’s where I’ve spent most of my adult life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Kandy’s commitment is mirrored by Ramona, a CNA who is celebrating an impressive 30 years at Mountain Vista. Over the years, Ramona has provided exceptional care for our residents, always adjusting to their evolving needs. “I’ve seen how care has shifted from an institutional environment to one that truly feels like home,” Ramona reflects. What motivates her daily is the relationships she builds with both residents and their families. “It’s fulfilling to help residents with their daily routines and encourage their strength and independence,” she says. As a trained CNA Mentor, Ramona also enjoys guiding new recruits, ensuring the legacy of high-quality care continues for years to come.
Diane, who has spent 25 years managing payroll at Mountain Vista, has also made a lasting impact. She understands the importance of paying employees accurately and on time, a responsibility she takes to heart. “I’ve learned a lot over the years, but it’s always about being there for the employees,” Diane shares. Although her role has evolved, from purchasing medical supplies to focusing entirely on payroll, she’s always been deeply connected to both staff and residents. She recalls fondly a resident who loved sports and would often greet her when she delivered supplies. “I always tried to go above and beyond, whether delivering supplies or simply chatting with the residents,” Diane says.
Joey, our cook and supervisor for 20 years, is another vital part of the Mountain Vista family. For Joey, mealtimes are more than just a job—they are an opportunity to connect with each resident and make their day special. “I love talking to each resident, getting feedback on their meal, and making adjustments if needed,” Joey says. He takes great pride in preparing meals that are not only nutritious but also flavorful. “I sample everything I prepare to make sure it’s just right,” Joey adds. His passion for food and service has helped create memorable experiences for the residents, and he feels privileged to be part of a team that makes a difference every day.
Finally, Charley, our receptionist for 15 years, has been the face of Mountain Vista, offering a warm welcome to all who enter. “I try to make everyone feel seen and valued,” Charley explains. Whether it’s a friendly greeting or helping someone with a car issue, he strives to brighten each person’s day. Charley keeps his busy role organized with a simple approach: prioritize tasks and stay on top of things with a trusty to-do list.
These four remarkable individuals—Kandy, Ramona, Diane, Joey, and Charley—are a testament to the dedication, compassion, and hard work of our Mountain Vista team. Their contributions have shaped the home that our residents and their families cherish. As we look ahead to another year, we celebrate their ongoing impact and the legacy of care, friendship, and service they bring to Mountain Vista every day. Here’s to many more years of success, dedication, and milestones!
