Celebrating 10 Years of
Rise Dance Center

Ten years ago, Rise Dance Center opened its doors to the Wheat Ridge and Jefferson County community with a vision: to make dance accessible to everyone. Today, they’ve become not just a studio, but a sanctuary of joy, healing, and community. Karen, the owner and a fellow cancer survivor, has created a space where movement becomes medicine—and for that, I am forever grateful.

When I was going through cancer treatment, my two young kids needed a place to go after school—a place to feel safe, supported, and seen. Rise became that place. Karen and her team gave them room to grieve, to celebrate, to just be. Sometimes it was with hugs, other times it was simply letting the music and movement do the healing. That balance is the magic of Rise.

As a family-owned business, Rise is rooted in love and resilience. They have touched so many lives—including mine—and I’m proud to call them a forever part of our family.

Here’s to another decade of dance, growth, and heart. Thank you, Rise.
