The Brewery Running Series is a nationwide effort that brings together craft brew enthusiasts, runners, and those simply seeking a sense of community in the great outdoors. The series offers non-competitive, family friendly, mostly 5k runs but more 10k and half marathons are being added to the roster. The events are sponsored by and typically start and end at a local brewery. They offer 30-35 events annually between the months of March to November. Because events are untimed, there is no pressure except to have fun!
The local chapter of the Brewery Running Series was founded by Wheat Ridge resident Brady Archer in 2016. Archer found a way to combine his love of running and beer to bring people together, be active and give back to the community as some of the proceeds from each run are distributed to local non-profits.
On Sunday July 6 organizers are holding a half marathon and 5k at Anderson Park located at 4355 Field St in Wheat Ridge. The half marathon begins at 7:00 am and the 5k will have start times at 8:30, 8:45 and 9:00 am. It ends at New Image Brewery located at 9505 W. 44th Ave in Wheat Ridge. Anyone registered by June 20 will receive a unisex t-shirt. The post party offers a free beer for those 21+ along with live music, food trucks sponsorship giveaways and tons of other craft beers to sample.
