Pay to be a Public Nuisance at Localworks Fourth Annual Golf Tournament

Tickets are on sale now for Localworks’ fourth annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser, scheduled for Sept. 17, 7:30 a.m. shotgun start at Applewood Golf Course in Golden. The cost to play is $120 per player and $450 per team.

The 18-hole scramble tournament tees off at 7:30 a.m. and welcomes players of all skill levels. Participants can enjoy challenge holes, mulligans, a celebrity putter, prizes and this year…sabotage! Players can purchase silly sabotage items to throw their opponents off their A-game. Want to add a little extra challenge for a foe? Cause some harmless golf chaos for your besties? This is your chance! It’s all part of the fun and guaranteed to keep things interesting. Localworks is all about bringing the community together, and a little friendly sabotage is sure to spark plenty of laughs and memorable moments—all while supporting a great cause.

Proceeds from this year’s tournament will directly support continued free access to Localworks’ TLC programming, including Clean Up Days, Neighborhood Block Party and Dumpster Grants and the Block Party Equipment Library. In 2025, Localworks’ Clean-up Days served more than 450 residents and collected nearly 69 tons of material. The organization also awarded 15 block party and dumpster grants, helping residents remove waste from local neighborhoods. Each year, these programs cost roughly $50,000 to administer. Wheat Ridge residents have expressed interest in more access to these grants. Localworks has raised over $25,000 from the Colorado Gives Foundation to support these programs. The current fundraising goal is to double Wheat Ridge resident grants in 2027.

There’s still time to sign up to be a sponsor. Localworks’ sponsors have raving reviews: “I thrive on seeing our business community in a different atmosphere having a good time in the sun!” says Joe Seehusen, Colorado Home Realty. Adding, “I align with Localworks and how they want to build on and strengthen our community.” For more information on sponsorship opportunities available, please reach out to [email protected].

The Golf Tournament Fundraiser remains one of Localworks’ largest annual fundraising events, bringing together residents, businesses and community supporters while generating funding for free programs that benefit Wheat Ridge throughout the year.
