Ridgefest is back for another sunny summer day of local live music, food trucks, yard games, and neighborhood fun! Before the festivities begin, Localworks is calling on our community of creative minds to help shape this year’s celebration.

Now in its third year, the Ridgefest Button Contest, sponsored by Sweet Ridge Studios, has quickly become a new favorite tradition, giving community members a chance to leave their artistic mark on the event. The winning design will be printed on collectible buttons handed out before and during Ridgefest, and the selected artist will receive a $250 cash prize.

Set for Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 2-8 p.m. at Anderson Park (4355 Field St, Wheat Ridge, CO), Ridgefest will embrace the beauty of Wheat Ridge’s trails, parks, and outdoor spaces. This year’s theme, Ridge Above the Rest, invites artists to capture the spirit of summer adventures and what makes Wheat Ridge feel special to them. Whether it’s the winding bike paths along Clear Creek or the golden glow of a summer sunset over the mountains, designers are encouraged to create something that reflects the energy and charm of the community.

Submissions are open through May 31 at 5 p.m. There’s no advantage to submitting early, so artists are encouraged to take their time and craft something meaningful to them. Multiple entries are welcome, and all skill levels are invited to participate. The winning design will be selected by a panel of judges from Sweet Ridge Studios, Localworks staff, and the Ridgefest events committee. Judges will be looking for designs that best capture the Ridge Above the Rest theme.

Once produced, the buttons will be available for free at participating local businesses leading up to Ridgefest. While the buttons are free, a suggested donation of $3 will directly support Clear Creek Makerspace programming. Buttons will also be available at the Localworks booth, Sweet Ridge Studios booth and the Clear Creek Makerspace booth at Ridgefest.

For those looking to brainstorm or create alongside others, Localworks will host two community design nights ahead of the deadline: one on April 10 at Clear Creek Makerspace and another on April 24 at Sweet Ridge Studios. Both events will be from 5:00-6:30 p.m. These events provide a great opportunity to collaborate, share ideas, and get inspired. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or someone who simply loves to doodle, this is your chance to be part of a growing Ridgefest tradition. So grab your pens, paintbrushes, or tablets, and show us what Ridge Above the Rest means to you!
