The cost for Wilmore-Davis is 2.84 million, with reselling the building and about 4.5 acres, resulting in the city paying $90,000. Great deal for sure but it is being paid out of the City Capital Funds and the Open Space Budget. It doesn’t look like the ballot initiative is involved with that initial purchase. If this is incorrect, let me know. The Kullerstrand plan is not a done deal yet. I understand the importance of community priorities used as a guide for municipal decisions. As a small business owner, I like the facilities this would improve… but, maybe not now? Inflation is out of control, the economy is in shambles (unless your rich), and people are barely getting by.

This has been sorely needed for a long time. I hope the voters approve it. ~Pat Heffner

A 1% increase in our sales tax would put Wheat Ridge second to only Denver, and higher than every other city in the Denver metro area. Also, it would mean you will pay 5% tax for your grocery store food, making food expense the highest in the metro area, even higher than Denver. Every dollar you pay in taxes is a dollar you don’t get to use to buy the things you want, and the food you eat. In these days of high prices for everything you buy, why voluntarily make your life more difficult by raising the tax you pay? ~Todd Frederick
