It’s that time of year again! As the summer sun slowly gives way to the golden hues of fall, we’re thrilled to announce the return of our beloved Edgewater Hometown Festival. An epic day of entertainment, fun, and community spirit awaits you!
Date: Saturday, Sept. 23
Venue: Citizens’ Park (24th Avenue and Benton)
Time: 3 to 8 p.m.
Here’s a Glimpse of What’s in Store
Rock Out with Three Fabulous Bands: Prepare to be serenaded! With our stellar lineup featuring Tony Medina, local favorite The Edgewater Project, and the unforgettable Barre Chord Bangers, you’re in for a musical treat.
Mini Makers Market: Browse treasures from our very own Edgewater and local artisans.
BINGO Bonanza: Dixie Krystals, the queen of numbers, will be your glamorous host. Grab your dabbers and get ready for a chance to shout “bingo” and win some fantastic prizes!
Canine Couture: Think your furry friend has what it takes to be the star of the show? The Dog Costume Contest will see our four-legged pals strut their stuff, showcasing their most fashionable and fun outfits. Thanks to Judy A. Hart State Farm for being this years’ Top Dog Sponsor!
Sweet Indulgence: Dive face-first into fun with our Pie Eating Contest. Who will take home the coveted PIE AWARD this year?!
Fun at Every Corner: The park will be dotted with inflatables and games perfect for kids and kids-at-heart.
FACC Dance Feature: Witness the grace and beauty of the Filipino American Community Center Dancers as they present traditional performances guaranteed to enthrall.
Laser Light Spectacular: As the evening descends, prepare to be dazzled by our state-of-the-art laser light show! Watch as beams of vibrant light dance across the night sky, synchronized to pulsating music. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss!
Eat, Drink, and Be Merry! Dive into a world of flavors with our diverse food trucks. Raise a glass at the beer tent, where proceeds boost Edgewater schools, and round off with treats from local dessert trucks.
Sustainability Matters
In the spirit of sustainability, we urge attendees to bring along reusable water bottles. Let’s keep Citizens’ Park pristine and green! Tin cups will be provided at the beer tent as well.
Travel Light and Right
We anticipate a high turnout, so opt for carpools, bikes, or even a leisurely walk to the park. For those driving, kindly be mindful of parking regulations in the area. Overflow parking will be available at the old city hall lot on 24th and Ames Street. Don’t forget to bring a lawn chair for all the shows!
On behalf of the Hometown Festival Team, we want to express our gratitude to our hard-working volunteers and staff, generous sponsors, and all of you, our fantastic community members. Let’s come together on Sept. 23 and make it a day of unforgettable memories!
