May 5: Cinco de Mayo Celebration, Mestizo Brewing Company, Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Mestizo Brew Cantina. The Colorado Youth Mariachi Group starts at 1 p.m. James Hurtado playing a rock/latin mix from 3-6pm. Friday, May 3rd kicks off the weekend with Tony Schiess 5-8 p.m.

 

May 6: BYOB(ook) Group at Clancy’s Irish Pub: Sci-Fi or fantasy, 6:30-8:30 p.m. 7000 W 38th Ave. Head to Clancy’s Irish Pub where the beer is liberated and spirits are high! Read any book that falls into the monthly theme and get ready to share and receive great book recommendations! This month’s theme: Science fiction or fantasy.

May 11: In-Person Coffee with the (Wheat Ridge) Mayor, 9 -10 a.m., Vinnola’s Market, 7750 W. 38th Ave. Free.

 

May 11: Historical Society’s May Festival, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Historical Park. Maypole dancing is at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., along with other games and activities. New this year for kids is the make-a-puppet booth complete with a puppet theater to put on shows and a May basket-making stand.

 

May 11: Ring in Spring pancake breakfast, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Walker Branch Park (16th Street & Harlan), Ring in Spring with the annual pancake breakfast. Enjoy music, kids activities, alongside coffee & pancakes.

 

May 11: Edgewater Book Group – American Ramble, 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., Edgewater Library, 1800 Harlan St. Come to the Edgewater Library for a monthly book club. This month’s selection: American Ramble by Neil King. 

 

May 12: Heirloom Tomato Farms plant sale, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Edgewater Public Market. Heirloom Tomato Farms are popping up at Edgewater Public Market to offer organic heirloom tomato plants for sale. If you’ve got a garden or want to start one, this is an excellent way to get the tastiest tomato plants. This pop-up features plants and seedlings but not actual tomatoes. Eggplant and pepper plants will be available, too. All plants are organic and non-GMO.

 

May 13: Wheat Ridge City Council meeting, 6:30 PM - 11:00 p.m., 7500 West 29th Avenue, Municipal Building. The meeting will be conducted as a virtual meeting, and in person, at 7500 West 29th Avenue, Municipal Building. Participate by attending, providing comments in advance at www.wheatridgespeaks.org or viewing the meeting live or later at www.wheatridgespeaks.org

 

May 15: Mountain View Mayor community office hours, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. 5461 W. 41st Ave. Join Mayor Mitcham for Community Office Hours on the third Wednesday of every month. Come for a coffee and pastry, to hear about what’s happening at Town Hall, and to share your thoughts and ideas. Her reports to Council each month include feedback from these gatherings.
